| allegiance– 1. the duty of being loyal to one’s ruler, country, etc. 2. loyalty; devotion, as to a cause
The Christian’s primary allegiance is always to Jesus Christ.
Roman culture was not neutral with respect to the announcement of God’s reign in Christ. The Gospel of the kingdom is not just about a gift. It is about a change of allegiance. The declaration “Jesus is Lord” was understandably viewed as subversive and a threat to everything the Romans held dear. That’s why Christians had to die. That’s why tyrants such as Stalin and Mao tried to stamp out the Church. –The Threat of Jesus, Rev. Robert Lynn
America is the revived Roman Empire- Which Jesus?
“[T]he USA has always been a warrior culture, built on a foundation of conquest and exploitation…” -Robert C. Koehler
“The Christian’s primary allegiance is always to Jesus Christ. Christians proclaim Him Lord, recognize Him as their legitimate King, and live as citizens of His kingdom first and foremost. The demands of human government are always secondary to the demands of Christ and His Kingdom—as the lives of countless martyrs and the persecuted church past and present attest.” -Chuck Colson
“According to the Scriptures the authorities were instituted to punish evil and reward good. If the authorities did the very opposite, then we were absolved from our duty to obey them.” –Christ On the Jewish Road, Richard Wurmbrand Voice of the Martyrs
It is written: “LORD* Deliver me from the man of disorder! Preserve me from violent men who imagine chaos (1) in their hearts. They are continually gathered together for war. They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent. Adder’s poison is under their lips. Selah.” (1)The men of disorder, violence and chaos are those who say that might makes right, where there I no justice. -Psalm 140:2-4; Scripture taken from The One New Man Bible, copyright 2011 William J. Morford. Used by permission of True Potential Publishing, Inc.
“Ideology- the manmade formulations and doctrines of modern politics– is the enemy of the Gospel. … Republicans and Democrats today engage in partisan warfare supposedly between conservatives and liberals, but these labels have largely lost their historic meaning. … Christians must never allow ourselves to be put in the hip pocket of any political party or ideological movement.” -Jubilee, July ’08; Chuck Colson Awake to Politics
Ancient paths “Matthew, however, clearly points out that these leaders are not hypocrites in the sense that the word is often understood as ‘saying one thing while doing another.’ Matthew’s Jesus finds fault with the teachings AND actions of these leaders.” … “According to Matthew’s Jesus, the religious leaders teach commandments of men which make void the commandments of God (Matthew 15:6).”
“Whoever tries to conceive the American word without taking full account of the suffering and love and salvation of Christ is only dreaming. I know how embarrassing this matter is to politicians, bureaucrats, businessmen, and cynics; but, whatever these honored men think the irrefutable truth is that the soul of America is at its best and highest, Christian.” -Charles Malik, Ambassador to the United Nations from Lebanon (President of the General Assembly of the UN)
“Former US President John F. Kennedy described the United states as a conglomeration of nations by the very fact that it is composed of people coming from virtually every country from across every continent. In spite of this, this nation is predominately Christian.” Source: Religions, and the Immorality of War; Charles Mercieca, Ph.D. President, UN World Peace Academy
|It is written: “You shall not make for yourself an idol* in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.” -Exodus 20:4-6
“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and mammon. -Matthew 6:24
In comparison to Jesus’ Holy Nation, the World’s (secular) Nations are incapable of producing such a people, for they are under the curse of the law, meaning their political laws are powerless to create right action between other people. The world’s system works only through coercion, undue influence, and duress. Threat, Duress, Coercion (TDC)
“The victory for freedom of thought recorded in our Bill of Rights recognizes that in the domain of conscience there is a moral power higher than the State. Throughout the ages, men have suffered death rather than subordinate their allegiance to God to the authority of the State. Freedom of religion guaranteed by the First Amendment is the product of that struggle.” Supreme Court of the United States, Girouard v. US, April 22, 1946 Slavery
“Do not be yoked* together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? “What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: ‘I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.’ Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord.” -2 Corinthians 6: 14-17

“Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.” -Ephesians 4:15
“Only when the Cross stands alone, unencumbered with other religions, philosophies, or political ideologies, does it retain its power.” –Hitler’s Cross, Erwin W. Lutzer; page 196.
It’s the ONLY Nation not politically controlled by man! Jesus’ kingdom is not for “vote”, but, rather, a kingdom established upon His laws of truth and love!
“God calls people freely to offer him their obedience. Nothing is gained by imposing patterns of ‘Christian’ behavior on human beings whose hearts have not been turned to the Lord.” -Abraham Kuyper (1837-1920); Christian History & Biography Issue 94
