Allegiance

It is written: “Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, or stand in the way of sinners, or sit in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the Torah (Teaching) of the Lord and he meditates on His Torah (Teaching) both day and night.” -Psalm 1:1, 2

allegiance– 1. the duty of being loyal to one’s ruler, country, etc. 2. loyalty; devotion, as to a cause

“The Christian’s primary allegiance is always to Jesus Christ. Christians proclaim Him Lord, recognize Him as their legitimate King, and live as citizens of His kingdom first and foremost. The demands of human government are always secondary to the demands of Christ and His Kingdom—as the lives of countless martyrs and the persecuted church past and present attest.” -Chuck Colson

“Whoever tries to conceive the American word without taking full account of the suffering and love and salvation of Christ is only dreaming. I know how embarrassing this matter is to politicians, bureaucrats, businessmen, and cynics; but, whatever these honored men think the irrefutable truth is that the soul of America is at its best and highest, Christian.” -Charles Malik, Ambassador to the United Nations from Lebanon (President of the General Assembly of the UN)

“Ideology- the manmade formulations and doctrines of modern politicsis the enemy of the Gospel. … Republicans and Democrats today engage in partisan warfare supposedly between conservatives and liberals, but these labels have largely lost their historic meaning. … Christians must never allow ourselves to be put in the hip pocket of any political party or ideological movement.” -Jubilee, July ’08; Chuck Colson  Awake to Politics

The victory for freedom of thought recorded in our Bill of Rights recognizes that in the domain of conscience there is a moral power higher than the State. Throughout the ages, men have suffered death rather than subordinate their allegiance to God to the authority of the State. Freedom of religion guaranteed by the First Amendment is the product of that struggle.” Supreme Court of the United States, Girouard v. US, April 22, 1946  Slavery

High Tower of Discernment

Ancient paths  “Matthew, however, clearly points out that these leaders are not hypocrites in the sense that the word is often understood as ‘saying one thing while doing another.’ Matthew’s Jesus finds fault with the teachings AND actions of these leaders.” … “According to Matthew’s Jesus, the religious leaders teach commandments of men which make void the commandments of God (Matthew 15:6).”

“Former US President John F. Kennedy described the United states as a conglomeration of nations by the very fact that it is composed of people coming from virtually every country from across every continent. In spite of this, this nation is predominately Christian.” Source: Religions, and the Immorality of War; Charles Mercieca, Ph.D. President, UN World Peace Academy
