Judeo/Christian History 101

Thomas Millington, Ambassador, looking upon Jerusalem

It is written: “And I said, O Lord God of heaven, the great and terrible God, Who keeps covenant, loving-kindness, and mercy for those who love Him and keep His commandments,” -Nehemiah 1:5

“Our [American] nation is in trouble. Jesus Christ is the only hope.” – Franklin Graham

The true Israel was and is always to be Theocracy. “As God has said: ‘I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.’” -2 Corinthians 6:16 (Jer.32:38). The goal of evil is to “derail” Believers’ relationship with G_d, and to make something that Yeshua/Jesus and His Congregation/Church is not! The first Jewish Christians were centered in Jerusalem. Jesus led from the front (The good Shepard). He was followed by people (the sheep) pursuing a noble purpose at their own volition (decision). Yeshua, Jesus, still is leading!

“It was in Antioch that the talmidim (disciples) for the first time were called “Messianic” (Christians-followers of Christ). –Acts 11:26 Jewish New Testament, David H. Stern

A Jew never looses his/her identity by believing in Yeshua, Jesus!

Authentic in person signature David Brog to Thomas Millington

“Jesus was Jewish. His disciples were Jewish. In the prevailing Christian view, the Bible was written by forty authors. Of these, thirty-nine were Jewish. The fortieth, Luke, was likely a convert to Judaism. None of the earliest Christians believed that they were starting a new religion. They merely sought to spread the news that Jewish prophecy had been fulfilled by the arrival of the Jewish Messiah.”  STANDING With ISRAEL, David Brog

From the earliest time in Israel’s history the Israelites felt more comfortable with a human king than with the Almighty; nevertheless, King David, who ruled forty years, understood that the true king of the world was Yehovah (Psalm 93:1). “It is sometimes hard to think of God as king in the present day because we look around and see human rulers who govern with very real and tangible force. Yehovah is a merciful king and when we sin against him he is patient with us. The human kings of the world are not so merciful and their punishments are often swift and cruel.” A Prayer To Our Father (The Avinu Prayer), Nehemia Gordon and Keith Johnson

“Society today is deeply influenced by what is known as Judeo-Christian ethics, which is essentially based on Torah principles. It was this unique book of instructions that introduced such fundamental concepts as, ‘love thy neighbor’ and ‘do not hate your brother in your heart.’ In ancient society there was no such thing as a desire for peace, the nations simply vied for power through military might. The Torah spread the concept of peace to the world to such an extent that The United Nations motto is a verse from Isaiah, calling for a society where people lay down their weapons and sworn enemies become friends.” -Rabbi Yehonasan Gefen, writer and educator in Jerusalem.  www.Torah.org

“And since our religion is not merely about individuals reaching up to God but rather of a nation bringing God down to Earth, the sanctuary must be made by the whole nation, va’asu.” -Rabbi Shlomo Riskin, The International Jerusalem Post, Feb. 1-7, 2008
